SPACE had secured funding from Arts Council England to upgrade its property portfolio, which includes a number of industrial-style buildings converted to provide studios for artists in South and East London. The organisation’s aim was to reduce ongoing maintenance costs, retain and diversify artist tenants and reduce energy costs.

Morse initially produced detailed plans for the refurbishment project at Haymerle Road, Peckham and managed the tendering process and the negotiations with contractors.

Works included new roof coverings, insulation and reinstatement of PV panels and central heating to building. Morse also project managed the external repairs and redecorations to the building.
