Project Overview
Deborah House in Hackney was a former warehouse, purchased by SPACE to provide artist studios to artists in the local area.
With funding from Arts Council England, SPACE contacted Morse to assist with the project management of the entire refurbishment of the building, which would assist with the organisation’s aim to reduce ongoing maintenance costs, attract new artists and reduce overall energy costs of running the building.
Morse managed the formal tender process (due to contract value and public funding) for a Design and Build contract. The works included external wall insulation and new cladding systems, replacement windows, new roof coverings and a “living roof”, external repair and redecorations and part internal refurbishment and fit out.
